Process Safety and Loss Prevention Training
GC Phillips Consulting Ltd can provide a variety of training courses to
improve the skills of employees. These include:

Hazard Awareness Training - This 6-hour training course is designed to
improve the
ability of plant personnel to identify substandard
conditions.

Process Fire Awareness Training - This 6-hour training course is
designed to improve
the ability of plant personnel to understand the
conditions that lead to process fires
and ultimately to prevent them.
· Guideword Approach to Hazard and Operability Studies - This 2-day course demonstrates a form of HAZOP based on deviations in operations and materials, rather than the more common and restrictive parametric method. The methodology can be applied to any aspect of Engineering, projects, maintenance, or operations. This is a hands-on course where the participants apply the methodology to actual designs.

Fault Tree Analysis - This 2-day course presents the basics of the
methodology along
with an explanation of quantification methods. This is
a hands-on course where the
participants apply the methodology to
several examples.

Vapour Cloud Behaviour - this half-day course formed the basis of the
PITS training
course on Vapour Cloud ignition. It includes a discussion
of vapour cloud behaviour,vapour cloud explosions, prevention methods,
and mitigation techniques.
· Specific loss prevention topics - Several other one- or two-hour sessions devoted to specific loss prevention topics are available and others can be developed for specific topics on request.
